SHOW #3 - STUDEO
|
I've never met these friends face-to-face, but I've been doing work for Jeremy and Christine Stork of Studeo for some time now. We had a fine chat - they at their home in Melbourne Australia, me in a closet in Oklahoma. Some great information for indie artists contained within! I first met Mike in the late '80s, doing stand-up in Nashville. He later became a speech writer for Senator and Republican Presidential candidate Fred Thompson (you may remember him better from his role as the D.A. in "Law and Order"). Mike's also an award-winning playwright, professor, public speaker, and author. His latest book is "The Molecule of More," co-written with Dr. Daniel Z. Lieberman. I've known singer/songwriter/producer Sean Patrick McGraw since 1994, when we played our first Sunday show at the Bluebird in Nashville. I borrowed his guitar, in fact. Since then, Sean's had a pretty cool career - a couple of major publishing deals, national TV appearances (he was a semi-finalist on "Nashville Star" in the '90s and played Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2009), and national tours with Toby Keith, Trace Adkins, and Eric Church. Here's a cool video of his rendition of his Montgomery Gentry hit. He's also produced and released numerous CDs, and plays the title role in my Dead Guy Opry (as they say, "currently in production").
Sean recorded his end of our chat at his home in Nashville. I was in a closet in Oklahoma. There's some cussin'.
